I’m a student in year 8 who is volunteering at Lifeways for my Duke of Edinburgh award.
When I first went to Lifeways the manager of the charity, James, showed me around the garden and house. The garden is very big and beautiful.
Woodland area
My favorite part of the garden is the woodland area because it has a ribbon tree where people make a wish and take a ribbon which they tie to the tree.
"Inspirational and cute quotes"
Another part of the woodland area that I like is the part which has inspirational messages written on circles of wood tied to the trees. There are lots of inspirational and cute quotes at Lifeways, which is really uplifting if you are having a bad day.
"Extremely peaceful"
The rooms at Lifeways are extremely peaceful. They all have separate colour themes and comfy chairs. There is one room on the ground floor which is quite big and has a pile of cushions in the corner. This room is mainly used for bigger groups of people. It has a lovely view of the garden.
Most of the rooms are on the first floor. There is a wide range of activities that the rooms at Lifeways are used for. For example, they are used for counselling as well as yoga. There are also lots of plants which are calming.
"Beautiful place"
Overall, it’s a really nice and beautiful place which has grown over the years.
